Today was the first meeting of the study group I am in. I do not really feel it was a beneficial gathering. Nothing significant was discussed so I departed after an hour based on the belief that I could most likely use my time a bit more productively in the library doing work.
It was the first day of school in which I introduced myself to no one new and had a much less socializing and much more work getting done between classes and throughout the day. I do feel that aspects of my daily schedule are coming together more as each day and week pass. I noticed today all those students working hard in the library from early in the morning to late in the afternoon and then all those students who hang around outside socializing…I need to do much less of the latter.
In the evening I met an old friend / ex-girlfriend for some coffee. It was friendly…I suppose that is the best way of describing it. We have been out of touch for the last five or six years…she found me just recently on myspace so we made plans. I have not kept in touch with girls I have dated in the past…but then again none of those relationships had ended very elegantly…this one I suppose more or less did. We will see…perhaps there is a friendship somewhere in the future.
And for all of you who wondered if I told my current girlfriend that I was meeting a past relation, the answer is yes I did and she was fine with it. I am a very honest person who believes in full disclosure of such things…it would be quite shady if I went behind her back to meet someone I once went out with.
